One of the hardest decisions an individual who is suffering from addiction will have to make is to get help, the second hardest is to show up and the third is to stay. At Serenity Light Recovery, our treatment philosophy highlights our understanding of this disease as many of our staff also walk the path of recovery. We walk with our clients through each phase and empower them to make the best decision of their life. The journey starts now and this is only the beginning. Individuals can recover from a hopeless state of mind, body, and soul.
Our treatment philosophy reflects that we are a place to be renewed and refreshed to begin a journey in recovery. We provide exceptional care in a loving, peaceful, and supportive environment without the institutional or hospital feel. We go above and beyond to make sure our clients’ stay with us is as comfortable as possible. Each client will be assessed and assigned to specific rooms and groups based on their needs. They will have the option to sign up for additional therapeutic services to aid in healing the mind, body and spirit. Our coordinated care approach enables us to offer truly individualized care in order to accommodate each client for the highest success rate.

Understanding Our Treatment Philosophy

Here at Serenity Light Recovery, we meet the clients where they are at in their addiction and guide them down the path of recovery that meets their needs. We help them see the light through the darkness, overcome their struggles, and achieve true freedom. Our ultimate goal is to improve their quality of life and empower them to make positive choices.

The disease of addiction does not discriminate it is an equal opportunity destroyer. Addiction doesn’t care if you are wealthy or poor, man or woman, educated or uninformed, adult or sadly even a child. Our clients are not alone on this journey and the diversity of our staff who are recovery are a testament to that. Making the decision to seek help for addiction is a choice that should be rewarded and cherished. We all recover differently, yet together.

We have a family of compassionate and experienced addiction specialists to help them through this process. Our team determines the underlying cause of the addiction and employs a multitude of evidence-based treatment modalities. Most importantly, we teach healthy coping mechanisms to reduce the urge to use in a high-stress situation. Serenity Light Recovery cares about making a difference in our clients’ lives. Our motto is; “I am not what I have done, I am what I have overcome. Give yourself another chance. It’s up to you to change.”

Our 3 Cornerstones

Acceptance

Integrity

Commitment

Our Passion Drives Us

Every team member of Serenity Light Recovery believes in our treatment philosophy and strives to deliver our mission and vision. They have the passion to help others and the drive to make a difference. We believe that recovery is possible and it is never too late to change. Our team works tirelessly to develop new and exciting ways to reach our clients at a new level. Working as a cohesive team, we provide holistic and evidence-based treatment to enhance mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. With over 150 years of combined sobriety, we absolutely understand the struggles our clients are facing and the internal prison that holds them captive. We strive to break the chains of addiction and give them a newfound freedom.

Enhancing Spirituality

HOW do we recover? We recover with Honesty, Open-mindedness, and Willingness. Our treatment philosophy includes the understanding that a power greater than ourselves will restore us to sanity. We encourage spiritual growth and understanding in our optional faith based recovery programs. The possibilities are endless and there is hope for a better future. Our clients are able to attend a weekly group called “Enhancing Spirituality”. This is a time for them to find or at least seek a power greater than themselves. Finding their faith in a higher power (of their own understanding) is one of the key components of recovery. Our clients also have Guided Meditation and Yoga groups twice a week to open their minds and body and practice spirituality.

You Have A Voice

Our treatment philosophy believes that not one program fits all. We offer groups and education on multiple paths of recovery. It is important to find the program that best fits you and your needs. We are 12 step based offering weekly Big Book Studies, and nightly meetings for AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) and NA (Narcotics Anonymous). We also offer Faith-based studies to accompany the 12 steps with Biblical Scriptures and provide education on Celebrate Recovery and Smart Recovery programs.

All Inclusive Campus

Serenity Light Recovery is an all-inclusive campus offering multiple levels of care. We want to make our client’s stay as comfortable as possible and make each transition seamless. We have the “Care Center” for a full medical detox with clinical programming and dual diagnosis treatment. Our clients can transition to Residential Treatment in “Oggy’s House” or “Hugh’s Hall” with additional Private Suites to accommodate their specific needs. We also have “The Light House,” which is where our Family Program and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) take place. We are here to support you and your loved one’s recovery.

Relapse Prevention

At Serenity Light Recovery, relapse prevention starts at the very beginning of the clients’ journey. Relapse does NOT have to be part of anyone’s recovery. We provide ample support and education to build a solid foundation by providing the tools necessary to face barriers and obstacles in life. Clients will develop coping skills and learn how to overcome stressful situations. Our SCARS Trigger Awareness Program is designed to help each client identify both internal & external relapse triggers, teach mindfulness of the physical response and work through urges/cravings without using. These practices will aid in improving the clients’ quality of life. A Recovery Coach will be assigned upon admission and will follow-up with each client for one year after they graduate from SLR to help them transition back into the community.

Continuum of Care

We are on a phase program to demonstrate the importance of continuum of care. The first phase is the Renewal Phase, which provides full medical detox and therapy for those in need. The clients can transition into residential and begin the second phase, which is Awakening. Awakening provides a different level of groups and education classes. The Lotus Phase is the next phase that symbolizes the clients blossoming and being comfortable emerging from muddy water. In this phase of Residential treatment, the clients attend outside meetings, participate in our three-day intensive family program, engage in off campus activities (i.e. beach trips, bowling, movies, etc.) and prepare for their transition into the community.

The last phase is the longest. It is called the Phoenix Phase because the clients are flying free and continuing their path of recovery. During the Phoenix phase, the clients can transition into our IOP for additional care. They also participate in our Aftercare and Alumni Programs, and Our Peer Supports Services are used as their guide for the first year after treatment. We do not want anyone to slip through the cracks and be “discharged” without added support. At Serenity Light Recovery, we care about our clients’ and their family’s recovery. We are only a spec on the spectrum. Continuum of care is so important for a successful recovery.
