Weekend Lead Counselor

Shift: Full-time, 10 hour shifts, Thursday-Sunday 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree specializing in psychology and/or counseling 
  • LMSW, or LCDC with a current and up to date licensure. 
  • Previous work experience in the field of substance abuse.

SCOPE: The full-time Substance Abuse counselor provides counseling and support to individuals and families experiencing addiction at Serenity Light Recovery. This may include individual, family or group counseling about the causes and effects of addictions support for families dealing with addictions and/or referrals to treatment for individuals requesting this opportunity. The counselor will also provide education to individuals and groups in the community with a focus on high-risk populations including those struggling with chronic relapse, and co-occurring disorders. The counselor will be familiar with other services and resources in the community and work closely to provide information and support when required. Serenity Light Recovery promotes a healthy, addiction- free lifestyle that will ensure the health and wellness of individuals, family members and the community. 

Roles of the Substance Abuse Counselor include: 

  • Providing substance abuse counseling for assigned clients including individual and group therapy. 
  • Interface with the director and other program staff in decision-making process involving clients to include attending all clinical meetings. 
  • Assess the counseling needs of the client 
  • Assessing client for substance abuse diagnosis using DSMV criteria in determining appropriate level of care based on ASAM criteria. 
  • Obtain previous records that are relevant to the current treatment episode. 
  • Preparing the substance abuse counseling portion of the client treatment plan 
  • Providing the substance abuse counseling services specified in the client treatment plan. 
  • Development of the client discharge/continuum of care plan to ensure movement to the appropriate levels of care. 
  • Participating fully as a member of a multidisciplinary team for assigned clients. 
  • Documenting all counseling and education services, assessments, reassessments, referrals and follow-up in the client’s clinical record using the EMR (Celerity program) 
  • Maintain client caseload (including all case management 
  • Treatment planning duties and clinical charting as required. 
  • Provide coordination of support services for the client and record the services provided in the client’s clinical record. 
  • Reassessment of the client and revision of the substance abuse counseling portion of the client treatment plan. 
  • Contact and coordination with referral sources, (i.e. legal, school, employer, etc.) 
  • Facilitate needed interventions for crisis-orientated issues utilizing a multi-disciplinary team approach for assigned clients. 
  • Carry out administrative and clinical functions as requested. 
  • Act in accordance with Serenity Light Recovery policies and federal confidentiality laws (42-CFR, and Texas DSHS state rules and regulations).
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Maintenance Person

Full-time

Maintain/audit sprinkler systems and drainage systems 

  • Perform basic maintenance duties such as: 
    • Changing light bulbs 
    • Changing A/C filters o Unclogging drains and A/C drain lines o Patching holes in walls 
  • Perform minor repairs throughout the facility 
  • Painting (Interior and Exterior) 
  • Maintain equipment and tools Requirements 
  • Experience in facility maintenance 
  • Experience using power equipment and tools (i.e. lawn equipment, power tools, chainsaws, drills, etc.) 
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more

Weekend Clinician

Licensure: LCDC, LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LPCi 

Hours: 4-10’s Thursday-Sunday- with 1 Sunday off/flexed a month 

Must have substance abuse experience and experience with electronic EMR/charting 

Preferred: residential or IOP experience
