IOP Counselor

Scope: The IOP Counselor will manage the satellite SLR IOP location. This individual will assist in the admission of individuals with substance use disorders. The counselor will provide individuals, families, and groups with the psychosocial support needed to cope with substance abuse recovery. Services include providing chemical dependency education, process groups, individual counseling, family sessions, and multifamily groups. Case management will include biopsychosocial assessments, treatment planning, treatment plan reviews, and discharge planning.

Roles of the Intensive Outpatient Counselor include:

  • Work 4 evenings per week and also time during the afternoon to assist with assessments, individual sessions, group notes, treatment plan updates, and additional clinical documentation.
  • 24 hours a week
  • IOP groups 6-9 pm Monday through Thursday
  • Flexible hours for individual sessions and case management based on client need and counselor availability


▪ Must be an independent, self-starter

▪ Bachelor or Master’s Degree specializing in psychology and/or counseling

▪ LMSW, LMFT, LPC, or LCDC with current and up-to-date licensure.

▪ Previous experience within substance abuse or mental health field

▪ Experience with electronic medical records preferred
