OUR RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT
FACILITY IN HOUSTON
Serenity Light Recovery’s campus is located on 10+ beautiful, spacious acres in Angleton, Texas, just south of Houston. Our facility hosts a recovery community of 15-25 with living accommodations ranging from shared living to private suites. Treatment programs are offered in 30-90- day stays and are uniquely crafted to heal the mind, body, and spirit.
Recovery Programming
12 step-program
This program is a tried and true program for addiction recovery. The steps involve an admission of powerlessness over addiction, recognition of a higher power as a source of strength, examination of past mistakes and making amends, learning to live by a new code of ethics, and helping others who suffer from the disease of addiction. SMART Recovery
This program utilizes a scientific approach, in contrast to the more spiritual approach of the 12 steps and Celebrate Recovery. The 4-Point program teaches behavior modification by increasing self-reliance rather than focusing on powerlessness and includes building and maintaining motivation, coping with urges, managing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and living a balanced life. Celebrate Recovery
Oftentimes, clients need more than a clinical approach and want a connection to their faith that’s more in depth than what 12-Step programs offer. Celebrate Recovery focuses on the teachings of Jesus Christ and scripture using its 8 Principles, which are similar to the 12 steps but are based on Biblical principles. This approach is designed to help clients overcome the “hurts, habits, and hang-ups” of addiction and lead the individual to a life of sobriety through the loving power of Christ. Dual Diagnosis Treatment
Oftentimes, addiction and mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, ADD/ADHD, and other diagnoses go hand in hand. Those who experience such issues tend to self-medicate with alcohol and drugs to cope with the symptoms. During treatment at Serenity Light Recovery, our experienced staff will assess and evaluate your symptoms and assist you with medication management, appropriate interventions, and coping skills with the goal of stabilization.
SCARS Trigger Awareness
Program
Temptations in the real world are inevitable. Serenity’s SCARS Trigger Awareness Program is a unique program designed to help our clients when they face everyday triggers.
Triggers can be external stimuli such as:
- A color
- A pleasant or unpleasant smell
- A certain object
- Music
It can also be a feeling, such as:
- Sadness
- Anger
- Stress
- Anxiety
Through this program, our clients develop a strong awareness of oneself and environment. We address the impact triggers have on their life while processing their feelings in a safe, clinically supportive environment, developing healthy coping skills for triggers.
